See some of the world's greatest pool players in action at THE BASE!
Exhibition matches are being held inside Te Awa, near JB Hi Fi prior to the The Predator Pro Billiard Series at Claudelands!
Catch demonstrations of, 8- Ball, 9-Ball, and 10-Ball from:
- Former world number 23 and 2019 US Open Ten Ball Champion, 34-year-old Marco Teutscher, will represent the Netherlands for the lasst time at the World Championships before switching allegiances to New Zealand. Although Marco competes globally under the Netherlands flag, he now resides permanently in New Zealand. He is the most accomplished cue sports player New Zealand has ever seen.
- Hamilton native Alexandria Endres, Kieran Dempsey, and Auckland based Sheridan Burmester will demonstrate their Skills. All three have won multiple New Zealand junior and senior cue sport titles. The three of them recently combined to win the VNEA under 21 World Teams Championship in Sioux City, Iowa. Alexandria Endres, a former Waikato Diocesan student, was named ‘Sportswoman of the Year’ in 2022 for her impressive efforts as a New Zealand representative pool player. She will be competing in the Women’s nine ball World Championships.
- Fourteen-year-old Jack Beggs will be aiming to win the Under 17 World Championship, adding to the VNEA Under 12 World title he secured in 2022. He is currently a year nine student at Hamilton Boys High School. In 2024 he reached the Final of the VNEA New Zealand 8-ball open Championships. The youngest player in New Zealand to ever do that.
- Jimmy “the professor” Henry is a legend of the 8-Ball game here in New Zealand, and is one of the world’s leading coaches. His knowledge and understanding of the game is recognised internationally. His list of national and international achievements is too long to list. He is known as the professor as he will "take you back to school”.
- Blake and Sydney Burnard are a brother, sister duo from the town of Waitara. Proud of their Maori heritage, they are two of the rising stars of Cue Sports in this country. Both are members of the NZ junior team.
Match are FREE to watch and are being held 11am - 4pm, Saturday 17 & Sunday 18 August 2024.
